As the only web conference focused on design and the design process, HOW Interactive Design Conference—September 3 – 5 in Washington, D.C.—is constantly evolving to meet the needs of attendees like you.

From our early mission to help print designers attain the increasingly mandatory skill of web design, HIDC has expanded to address the complex reality for most designers: you may be an expert in one aspect of web design while needing a catch-up course in another and a simple update on new developments in a third.

Wherever you fit on the spectrum of web design expertise this year, you’ll find sessions to upgrade your abilities in UX, front-end and responsive design, content strategy, agile processes and development, and more. See the full HIDC D.C. schedule here.

Be sure to reserve your spot at HOW Interactive Design Conference by June 30 to save $200!

Front End Development Expert Jenn Lukas at HIDC

Jenn Lukas

Named one of Mashable’s “15 Developer/Hacker Women to Follow on Twitter,” Jenn Lukas (@jennlukas ) founded Ladies in Tech and co-hosts a podcast of the same name. Jenn has done everything from creating Navy training simulations to leading the front-end team at Happy Cog as Interactive Development Director. She also teaches for GirlDevelopIt and Skillshare while working as a front-end consultant and freelance developer in Philadelphia.

If you have questions about web fonts, you’ll want to attend Jenn’s session, The Developer’s Ampersandwich. Many otherwise knowledgeable designers are stymied when it comes to which fonts they can use on the web, and how font choice can affect a site’s performance. You’ll walk away with the ability to examine type and icon fonts through a developer lens, and you’ll get insights on how designers and front-end developers can work together to get everyone on the same (elegantly designed) page!
