HOW Design Preview: Design Army's Battle Tips

This is NPR for Chronicle Books. This beautifully designed volume chronicles NPR’s storied history, featuring dozens of behind-the-scenes photos, custom info-graphics, essays and original reporting by a who’s who of NPR staff and correspondents, transcripts of memorable interviews, and an audio CD of the most memorable programming throughout the decades.
In 2010, the studio won the first place in Print’s Creativity + Commerce competition for an identity and collateral materials designed for the DC AdClub’s Addy Awards Ceremony. That project took text-based acronyms, like “OMG,” “WTF,” and “IDK” to create a lively, garishly colored, eminently fun promotion that encompassed poster, invitations, and even stickers.

From our Creativity + Commerce award write-up: “The invitations were made from Coronado stipple paper, which has a ‘plastic-y’ feel that achieved the tactile effect the designers were after, while the font is Helvetica Round, a quirky, bubbly text that also lends to the overall [teenager-homaged] theme.”
