Japanese Sundries

On this day before the predicted coldest Thanksgiving Day of the past 100 years (says my apartment building super), let’s be preemptively thankful that the vintage paper ephemera for colds and flu (and other things) is still extant to give us designers our needed holiday feelings of joy and purpose. The Japanese were (and are) masters of simple (sometimes witty) package design. But they are also the leaders in graphics that are bound to blow your mind (just visit the Ginza). These are 20th century sundries that are at once sensational and funny. (Thanks to Naomi Otsu). They make me smile, I hope that medicine works for you too. Happy Holiday eve.
