People Say We’re Monkeying Around
And they’re right. This is a monkeying-around post, or Monkee, if you prefer. Sometimes it’s just fun to look at stuff and think design-y thoughts. I was thinking, What does this issue of Audience magazine, designed by Milton Glaser and Seymour Chwast at Push Pin Studios, have in common with this issue of Tiger Beat‘s special Monkees issue?
Actually, not a helluva lot. Except, of course, Davy Jone’s expression is similar, and for many tweens in 1968 he was a living doll. Basically, this is just an excuse to show some interior typography from my fave groovy teen magazine from when I was a hippy radical underground press designer, but for relaxation between agitations and insurrection I fingered through mags like these for hair and fashion tips. Now you know.
