My Hero: In Gomez We Trust
Today is an historic day. According to Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution, the 45th president of the United States must take the 35-word Oath of Office as follows:
I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
This nation was designed to perpetuate itself based on a peaceful transition of power from one administration to another with enough retention of the ideas and ideals that made the nation great from its very founding.
With luck the Constitution will ensure that this happens for the 45th time. In the meantime, I think good thoughts as those 35 words are recited and think of my hero, Gomez, to take my mind off what might be. In Gomez We Trust.
