Print Wins Three SPD Silver Awards
As award season winds down, we’re proud to announce that PRINT continued its winning ways by taking home three Silver Awards from the Society of Publication Designers. The magazine was nominated for five awards in all.
The official awards were as follows:
-The cover of our May/June 2007 European Design Annual, designed by Chragokyberneticks and photographed by Beat Schweizer.
-Magazine of the Year (circulation under 500,000)
Editor-in-Chief Joyce Rutter-Kaye said: “We’re all very proud of our art director Kristina DiMatteo and her associate, Lindsay Ballant, for the talent and hard work they’ve put into keeping Print on the leading edge of fresh, distinctive and compelling editorial design–a must for our audience of discriminating visual artists and those who appreciate design culture in all its forms.”
This is a record number of nominations for the magazine. In 2007, the magazine won a Silver for “Design of Entire Story” for the 2006 Regional Design Annual, as well as two merit awards.
Congrats to Kristina DiMatteo, our art director, and Lindsay Ballant, associate art director (both pictured above), on these well-deserved awards. And we’d like to send our best to Deb Bishop and Blueprint, who won the Gold Award for the Magazine of the Year in the under 500,000 category; Wired‘s Scott Dadich for 500,000 to 1 million circulation category; and The New York Times Magazine‘s Arem Duplessis in the over 1 million category.
