Sam and Santa, Detente

Two great powers – of two great states, the U.S. and North Pole – are shaking hands. And our future well-being – the future of American economic development – is at stake. As detente between Uncle Sam and Santa nears, it is necessary to reflect on how the U.S. Constitution separates church and state, but enjoins state and commerce. Let us raise a glass as the holiday season beckons us to the mall of our choice to help stimulate the sagging economy – drink the nog and grog that will enliven and embolden consumption. Hail Sam, Ho Ho Santa.
