"To assist those heroically working for justice in the upcoming presidential election," Maira Kalman has released a signed, limited-edition booklet of her calming tree paintings. 100% of the proceeds will go to Movement Voter Project, a grassroots organization bringing out the vote, and the ACLU.

The book is produced through publisher Alex Kalman. "I think everyone who is half-decent is thinking what can I do?" he explains. "I thought that in the context of this moment, it would be nice for 'PEOPLE' to receive something special, a small package in the mail with a little booklet, something personal from a beloved artist and thinker that reminded us of our 'SHARED HUMANISM.' That it could offer a little bit of warmth and light in a dark moment. And luckily for us, Maira was nearby."

Each booklet comes with a piece of bark from a cloven tree. The initial response wso successful that Maira and Alex decided to create another printing of signed books with Julie Saul Projects representing the original paintings. The second printing that is available now. As of this writing, the project has raised $100,000.
