HIDC 2014: The Developer’s Ampersandwich with Jenn Lukas
If you have questions about web fonts, you’ll want to watch Jenn Lukas’s 2014 session from HIDC 2015 in Washington, The Developer’s Ampersandwich (below). Many otherwise knowledgeable designers are stymied when it comes to which fonts they can use on the web, and how font choice can affect a site’s performance. You’ll walk away with the ability to examine web typography and icon fonts through a developer lens, and you’ll get insights on how designers and front-end developers can work together to get everyone on the same elegantly designed page.
Named one of Mashable’s “15 Developer/Hacker Women to Follow on Twitter,” Lukas (@jennlukas) founded Ladies in Tech and co-hosts a podcast of the same name. Jenn has done everything from creating Navy training simulations to leading the front-end team at Happy Cog as Interactive Development Director. She also teaches for GirlDevelopIt and Skillshare while working as a front-end consultant and freelance developer in Philadelphia.
