The Lit Platform is dedicated to promoting and publishing writing in all its forms, building audiences beyond its South West England base. The Tilt, a new anthology produced with Stranger Collective and No Bindings, showcases writings from protege participants in the 2020 Lit:Up mentoring program. Each chapter starts with a one-word title that describes the change the writers want to see in publishing.

Stories feature visual artists Esther McManus, Danielle Doobay, and Miranda Latimer. The Tilt gets made up of six separate, stapled pamphlets with a wraparound cover and riso-printed in seven colors by Earthbound press.

“As a fan of books as material objects, I am personally thrilled with the unique interplay of illustration, design, text, and concept in these pages but am also excited about the possibilities for digital that this project pilots,” says Anna Kiernan, Publisher, The Lit Platform.

Chapters include Conscience by Zoe King with an introduction by Sam Jordison, Room by Sofia Abasolo, introduced by Yara Rodrigues-Fowler, Sarah Enamorado’s Longing presented by Wyl Menmuir, Ecology by Nicole Jashapara and introduction by Jessica J. Lee, April Roach’s Paint, introduced by C.J. Flood, and Sacrifice by Akvile Packyte, introduced by Anna Kiernan.

Though the physical run is limited to 200 copies, the “at-home” version is free to download as a PDF.
