Today's Obsession: Marwencol

Here’s an interesting way of seeing the world: externalized autobiography.

Mark Hogancamp was beaten so badly in 2000 that he slipped into a coma, and is now regaining his sense of self and his motor skills by creating miniature vignettes from a fictionalized World War Two village called Marwencol. Each photograph is posed and assembled down to the tiniest detail to create a narrative about a fictional Mark, his friends, and his relatives. His story’s been retold as a film, hopefully to be playing near you. Here’s the official trailer on YouTube.
