Top Five Humorous Accounts To Follow On Instagram

April Fools Day might have been yesterday, but it doesn't hurt to keep the humor alive. Today we have five humorous Instagram accounts that are worth a follow and a scroll through. Each one is unique in its own way and will most definitely put a smile on your face or at least spark an inspirational scroll through the depths of the app. Happy Friday!

Drake On A Cake

This account is exactly what you'd think: Drake on a cake. The images on this account are exquisitely curated, and stylized photographs of gorgeous cakes topped with unexpected lyrics by the ever-famous rapper, Drake. Think cake designs that your great aunt can make paired with lyrics like, "24-hour champagne diet" or "bout to call your ass an Uber I got somewhere to be." It's the juxtaposition between the dainty cakes and hard rap that somehow make a perfect pair.

Drunk Drawn

There's no need to wonder what's on this account: drunken doodles. Most pieces feature famous people in pop culture and entertainment news. Think the Real Housewives ladies, Oprah from the royal interview (that you either saw first hand or heard about, there's no in-between), or good 'ole Britanny Spears. The eyes on each person are drawn in such a unique way and always emit the perfect emotion. Weirdly enough, I feel like I can read each quote in my head exactly as if the famous person were reading it to me, thanks to each drawing's detail, emotion, and perfection. I can't stop scrolling and giggling to myself; this account is intoxicating.

Dong Draper

Yep, you read that right. Dong Draper is a copywriter's anonymous meme account based on the character we all know from Mad Men, Don Draper. If you're interested in the world of advertising and the ins and outs of cliches, this is most definitely an account you need to check out. One of the memes showcases a Copywriter's fictional search history made of a list that includes things like "synonyms for better, am I over or under watering my plants, em dash keyboard shortcut, idioms for life." This account is well-curated, perfectly hilarious, and maybe even a little too on the nose.

Thrift Store Art

Sometimes thrifting can be overwhelming, to say the least. Thanks to this account, you can see all the best (i.e., funny) parts of thrift stores without having to do any of the heavy lifting. Thrifters DM their impressive finds, and the best ones get posted on the feed. You think you've seen it all until you give this account a scroll through. Picture a piece of wood decorated in sparkly stick-on letters stating, "There's no use in feeling low," or a t-shirt with a giant mosquito that says in all lowercase letters, "darn you, west Nile." If this isn't art, I'm not sure I know what is.

Filthy Rat Bag

Don't let the name scare you off. Filthy Rat Bag is an Instagram account dedicated to quirky illustrations that make you go, "huh." I'm sure you'll find at least one piece that you can identify with, if not all of them. The drawings are casual, and the color palette consistently sticks to reds, blues, and yellows making for a very consistent feed even though every doodle is drastically different. From a sardine sitting in a tin of water that reads, "I stopped waiting for the rain to pass," to a pig wearing a crown and swimsuit with the statement, "The world never fails the beautiful." You can't not love this account; it makes you think.
