A Hunger for Thirst

If you’re thirsty for graphic design and you’re soaking up the sun in Boca Raton, opening today is “Curiosities, Rick Valicenti + the 21st Century Thirst.” It’s a retrospective of work from the past decade curated to “underscore the collaborative balance and value between the professional commission and the personal research,” says Valicenti.

The exhibition is opening on February 13th at Florida Atlantic University’s Schmidt Center Gallery in Boca Raton. It will run until April 3rd, and ultimately travel to NYC (I can’t wait).

An opening reception for the exhibition, beginning with a lecture by Valicenti, will be presented on Friday, February 12 from 7 to 9 pm. In association with the exhibition, the FAU Dance Ensemble will premiere a work on February 5–7, a collaboration between Valicenti and graduate students in dance and the visual arts.

Also don’t miss: Edel Rodriguez’s “Here / There,” a solo exhibiton opening February 20 at Gallery Nucleus.

And, David Sandlin in the “Hotwire3” Art Show opening tonight at the Scott Eder Gallery.
