Elaine Lustig Cohen assumed the studio of Alvin Lustig, her first husband, upon his death at age 40, and carried through his and her own commissions for many years thereafter. Now, as a prelude to an RIT monograph on eye-catching book covers and multi-media collages, Rochester Institute of Technology’s Cary Graphic Arts Collection’s spring exhibition, Elaine Lustig Cohen: Voice & Vision examines the work of this trailblazing designer. “A collection of her work, with the designer’s voice woven throughout, allows for an inside look into Elaine Lustig Cohen’s versatile and ever-changing career.”
