Designing for Someone Other Than Yourself

World Studio‘s Mark Randall has been directing SVA’s Summer residency Impact: Design for Social Change, This year he is offering two chances to make an impact:

One Week Focus: June 22 – 27, 2014

Implementing Impact! the Business of Social Design is a new one-week intensive workshop that will focus on the business of social design by exploring critical topics in hands-on modules ranging from analysis, marketing, management and operations to funding models.

Six Week Comprehensive: July 7 – August 15, 2014Impact! Design for Social Change runs on two parallel yet related modules. The Big Idea will focus on social entrepreneurship and educate participants on how to conceive, develop, fund and execute their own socially-minded project, program or social enterprise. The Team Project brings participants together as small teams focused on economic and community development for a New York City non-profit.

Mr. Ralph Steadman, Time for Your Close-Up

A new film, “For No Good Reason”, about Ralph Steadman opens today, Friday, April 25 at 7:20pm at the Angelika Film Center in New York (18 West Houston St.).

“For No Good Reason” is riot of stories and images as we take a trip through the wild and dark days of Steadman’s time with ‘Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas’ writer Hunter S Thompson, the Rumble in the Jungle; gun fights with literary giant William S Burroughs and his fiercely heart-felt politics.
