The new book by Peter Sis, The Pilot And The Little Prince (Farrar Straus Girouxi/Frances Foster Books), is due out this spring. The Morgan Library has opened an exhibition on the same subject “How Antoine Saint-Exupery wrote Little Prince In New York” with his original drawings. It’s on view until April 27. Sis will also to give a talk there on April 22.
Keeping with the flying motif, Sis has also designed a Bayeux-sized tapestry, the preparation of which (below) is being woven in Abusson, France, for Amnesty International. It will be hung in the Dublin airport in memory of Seamus Heaney. Below is a taste of the handwork that goes into this visual treat.
