“An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.” —Bill Bernbach

“Don’t bunt. Aim out of the ballpark. Aim for the company of immortals.” —David Ogilvy

“Any fool can make soap. It takes a clever man to sell it.” —Thomas J. Barratt

They sold soap. They sold Rolls Royces. They sold everything in between. People like Bernbach, Ogilvy and Barratt were the original geniuses of their field, and their output revolutionized the business of advertising.

But, while they’re considered legends now, they weren’t back then—they were just creatives doing fantastic work.

And that’s what it’s all about.

Meet the Legends in Advertising Awards.

For decades, Print magazine has been selecting and honoring the best of the best in the graphic design world through our venerated Regional Design Annual competition. While the RDA has always featured brilliant advertising work, after nearly 75 years in publication, we’ve decided it’s finally high time to give the ad world—which has long held its place as one of the most visually stunning and exciting arenas of design and media—its own dedicated spotlight.

The LIAAs are open to established firms as well as students, startups and up-and-coming designers. Categories include print ads and beyond—campaigns across an array of mediums and digital spaces, including TV and radio.
