One unexpected side effect of the COVID-19 pandemic: bad design.
The sudden need for signs, warnings and guidance around social restrictions has bred a medley of impromptu design reactions, be they whipped up in Microsoft Word or with a marker.
Responding to businesses’ sudden need for clear, effective communication, HASTINGS Architecture and Base Design partnered to launch Way Forward Signage Co.
“The goal of Way Forward Signage is to develop signage that focuses on the health and well-being of employees and customers, and that, in so doing, makes it easier for companies to reopen safely,” the company writes. “With minimalistic icons and bright colors, these signs are eye-catching, directional and uplifting. While there are other signs available in the marketplace, Way Forward Signage represents a considered, holistic design approach for signs that will exist as part of everyday lives for the foreseeable future.”
Here’s a sampling of the offerings.
