When it comes to the world of packaging, no one covers it more comprehensively than Dieline—so we’ve partnered with our friends at the site on a new column, 5 Package Designs of the Week.

Check in every Friday for five of the finest pieces of pack from the week that was.

East London Liquor Co.

“Plenty of craft distilleries make transcendent spirits, but often not only do they come at ridiculous price points, but their visual identity looks stuffy and pretentious. And that’s precisely why we love this gin rebrand for the East London Liquor Co. by Ragged Edge. Not only does the packaging have a vibrant energy along with defiant type, but as Ragged Edge puts it, they designed ‘great drinks without all the crafty bullshit.’”

Nano5 Spray Paint

“Madcats creative agency has created the branding system for Nano5, a line of inexpensive universal spray paints. The design language is a fresh take on spray paint cans, featuring no color whatsoever. The branding relies on bold typography and a clever paint-by-numbers system, showing the user all the different types of things they could paint with Nano5.”

Fourdots Craft Beer

“Pop art meets film noir for this new line of beer and tees that pays homage to Japanese culture with a distinct comic book feel. Fourdots is the soon-to-come online shop from design agency Human. The retro feel creates a vivid and exciting color scheme with these designs, infusing Japanese words with unexpected characters.”

Sime Darby Envelopes

“We’re enamored with these red envelope designs crafted by Sime Darby Property that target potential homeowners. These cards are meant to be reusable and reduce waste while also minimizing glue usage. The foiled elements and stunning illustrations make these Lunar New Year envelopes ones you’ll be proud to give to your friends and loved ones.”

530 Craft Beer

“530 Craft Beer is a trippy, ’70s-inspired design that uses curved lines to create a surreal brand experience. The striking color schemes and decidedly unique label shape make this craft beer a cut above the rest. The wavy nature of this beer design hints that it’s best sipped on the beach, taking in the beautiful scenery.”
