It was a chilly November afternoon when I first heard one of my friends listening to a song that sounded like someone put a hungover college student on the brink of dropping out in charge of a kindergarten choir. But I was intrigued; it was a song, unlike anything I'd ever heard before with it’s piano notes and sing-song-y words all layered perfectly within the realms of a rap song. The artist behind it all? Miles Parks McCollum, known to most as Lil Yachty.

Lil Yachty might be known most for his musical endeavors, but the artist is also an entrepreneur at the core of it all. He's partnered with Reese's Puffs, he's jumped into the global Cryptocurrency market with his new coin known as "YachtyCoin, and he's producing a film adaptation of Mattel's iconic card game Uno.

The renowned rapper and entrepreneur has recently joined the beauty world with CRETE, his new gender-neutral nail polish line. The line's goal is to push self-expression from everyone and allow people of any gender to show their aesthetic without judgment.

The first drop of the line, "Negatives 001," comprises three shades of nail polishes, all matte in finish—black, white, and grey. The packaging is different than the small, typically round, shaped bottles you find polish inside of. Instead, the liquid comes in a skinny black tube featuring the brand's name in a small font at the bottom and the illustrated logo found on the other side.

Lil Yachty's Crete is a nail polish line that's pushing the boundaries of the norm. Inclusivity and more gender-neutral options from cosmetics brands are something we hope to see more of in the future. The brand's first drop is May 21st; it's not too late to nail down your personal aesthetic.
