If you have a bit of spare time and a medium amount of spare cash, check out Purgatory Pie Press’s House of Postcards, a boxed set of 12 square postcards that are signed and numbered collaborations with artists and poets (and one composer). It’s a limited edition of 144, letterpress-printed by Dikko Faust, with hand-set wood and metal type and die-cut with slots so that they can be built into various architectural structures.

The PurgPiePress, about which I interviewed co-founder Esther K. Smith for the AIGA, is known for its subscription postcard series (1981-1991), and this new set is a delightfully playful addition. The 2009 postcard series is now available as a pre-publication subscription series for $64, and you can order it here. Happy mailing–or hoarding!
