From the early 1930s until his death in 1938, the primary media for Soviet photo montage pioneer and designer Gustav Klutsis’ (1895 – 1938) work was posters and the much less studied agitprop in the front page newspaper format.

My friends at Productive Arts now have a rare collection and some individual copies of his work for Pravda (Truth) and others available.

The collection we have for sale contains 37 newspapers (28 of which are shown here). They are in a remarkable state of preservation and are a comprehensive presentation of Gustav Klutsis’ newspaper designs.
