I recently received these image-musings about the new world in relation to the old from illustrator and bookmaker Henrik Drescher: “It’s becoming clear to me that self-isolation is my normal mode. I spend most of my days around the house/studio, [and] out of respect to people who toil at a real job I don’t want to call what I do ‘working,’ but I focus on picture-making. It has been my life—pictures have always been my focus and savior, along with my close relationship with my wife, Wing, and my dog, Tofu, and a handful of friends and my kids, who for now are ghosts in the ether. Here are some drawings that I’ve gathered from my notebooks, evidence that I’ve been covering the plague for decades.”
