DOGE may have cut a sizable chunk of the federal payroll, but there are plenty of jobs awaiting anyone with the urge to protect America from “invasion.” For a few months, ICE has been churning out recruitment materials—posters, websites, social media GIFs—that go to great lengths to appeal to the financial wants of prospective patriots. The graphics come in two forms: The most prevalent are the remixed vintage/retrofit posters like those below that reintroduce Uncle Sam as a contemporary trademark. He has been the United States spokesman since the early 19th century—and he’s never let the nation down.
The second strategy centers on the personalities who are already defending the homeland. Posters on the ICE recruitment website are replete with Donald Trump and Kristi Noem “hero shots” commanding patriots to rid the country of its “criminals and predators.” The designs are no-nonsense straightforward “asks.”
“Recruitment materials will be distributed across major cities nationwide, college campuses, job fairs, and law enforcement networks beginning this week. ICE encourages Americans with a commitment to public safety, national service, and upholding the rule of law to apply today to jumpstart a fulfilling career in federal law enforcement”.
Comparisons with other nations’ historic recruitment conceits are unnecessary—these graphics speak for themselves in a manner consistent with the policies of the current regime.
