As previously noted on Imprint, the exhibition The Lustigs: A Cover Story opens tonight at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota. The show includes 500 pieces—95 percent of them from the collection of the CVA faculty member Michael Skjei. It is the most extensive exhibit of Alvin Lustig and Elaine Lustig Cohen’s book and print work ever collected and displayed, and it’s well worth the visit to the northern Midwest. It also happens to be the first time in history that the pair have been exhibited together. Skjei’s detailed collection, including some rare items, is an amazing display of material from the midcentury-modern perspective. Here’s hoping the exhibit will travel to other locales around the United States.

Forgive the poor quality of my photography below; at least it will give you a sense of the critical mass. (Thanks to John Dufresne and Kolean Pitner.)
