So today, on the birthday of Neil Armstrong (1930–2012), we’re happy to have the excuse to dive into all manner of Apollo 11 print delights.
In 1969, space fever was at a fever pitch. Commander Armstrong, along with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, blasted off for the moon on July 16, and made lunar landfall on July 20. The event was televised (“One small step,” and all), John F. Kennedy’s promise of putting a man on the moon before the decade was out was fulfilled, and ephemera galore followed.
