Fast Company Releases New Book On the Intersection Of Design and Business

Posted inDesign Inspiration

The longstanding business media juggernaut Fast Company has just released their newest book, Innovation by Design: Creative Ideas That Transform The Way We Live and Work. From publishers ABRAMS and written by the magazine’s Editor in Chief Stephanie Mehta along with Fast Company editors, the book celebrates the people, companies, and trends that have pushed design forward to a place of prominence within the business industry.

Brooklyn-based design duo Triboro (David Heasty and Stefanie Weigler) led on the book’s overall design, executing a typography-centric cover featuring letters in a jaunty assortment of typefaces that range in style, hue, and tone. Meanwhile, the interior spreads are bright and clean, with cheery four-color block margins and 75 color photographs to bring the book to life.

Writer, designer, host of the podcast Design Matters, and (full disclosure alert) one of our PRINT Partners, Debbie Millman, penned the thoughtful foreword for Innovation by Design, where she offers personal reflections on Fast Company’s influence both on her own life and on the general advancement of the positioning of design within the world of business. “Design and business must become inextricably linked to the way in which society, culture, the environment, and politics interact. The very fate of humanity is at stake,” she writes.
