Para celebrar el centenario del nacimiento del historiador de la arquitectura Bruno Zevi (1918-2000), la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la USP realizó un seminario internacional en septiembre de 2018, organizado por la escuela junto con el Istituto Italiano de Cultura, la Universidad de Roma La Sapienza, Fapesp y Fondazione Bruno Zevi. El foco del encuentro fue la relación del italiano con América Latina. El cartel impreso, ahora presentado a esta Bienal de Diseño Gráfico, fue la pieza central de la identidad visual del evento. Para elaborarlo, se tuvieron que enfrentar algunas preocupaciones. ¿Cómo representar las diversas relaciones construidas por el influyente historiador? ¿Cómo lidiar con América Latina sin recurrir a imágenes demasiado simplificadas o deslizarse a lugares comunes? Reflexionando sobre esta red de relaciones, propuse el concepto de 'circulación de ideas', que, en términos gráficos, se materializó en el elemento base del cartel: un mapa de la circulación de los vientos sobre esta parte del continente americano, donde las flechas indican direcciones e intensidades de los flujos. Partiendo de solo dos elementos, las flechas que indican el movimiento del aire y la tipografía de tamaño expresivo (Barlow), el póster, impreso en papel de polen de 90 g/m2 en tamaño 640 x 940 mm, está diseñado mediante variaciones de los colores negro y magenta.
