Here’s a gorgeous programmatic piece, but it’s not on a flat surface or screen (for once)—a nice reminder that visual patterns can be created without actually creating an image. This series of pendulums are all the same weight, but hung on different lengths of thread. When all pendulums are moved at the same time, the different lengths product a wave and ripple effect, which creates a cycling visual pattern repeating every sixty seconds.
