Today we highlight our jury group who's reviewing all entries in the Hand Lettering, Illustration, Invitation, Logos, and Adobe Dimension Category. This group is exceptional and have even received a shout out from Beyoncé herself. (We see you, Laci).

Laci Jordan is a multidisciplinary designer, illustrator, Creative Director, and the true definition of a modern-day renaissance woman. Laci’s work concentrates on the theme of everyday life, color, and the representation of marginalized people and the intersectionality that exists amongst all of these spheres. Created under the guiding conceptual theme of “Everyday Life,” her works range from captivating portraits of women of color to vibrant depictions of her favorite sneakers. Read more about Laci

Jessica Hische is a lettering artist, illustrator, author, and self-described “avid internetter” working in Oakland, California. Jessica began Daily Drop Cap, a project in which every day she created a new illustrative letter, working through the alphabet a total of twelve times. The popularity of Daily Drop Cap really kickstarted her career as a letterer, and has inspired many other designers to start daily lettering projects. Daily Drop Cap concluded in 2011, but you can find the letters in all sorts of places, from postcard sets to iPhone cases. Read more about Jessica

Rick Griffith is a graphic designer and master letterpress printer. His work is an erudite exploration of language, history, politics, science, music, and ethics—typographically-focused and relevant. He is known as a passionate advocate for design. As Design Director at MATTER, Rick works across all media for business, culture, and civic engagement with his partner and staff. MATTER’s broad range of clients includes restaurants, beverage manufacturers and distributors, politicians, universities, architects, engineers, arts venues, mimes, scientists, government agencies, and entrepreneurs.
