Where do you find inspiration?I think inspiration is all around, sometimes even a bit too much. For a designer, almost every daily-use objects are something to learn from. Each one of those was designed, good or bad. I love to get to know new tech products, gadgets, applications and websites. My favorite website for inspiration is the one and only Dribbble, which has the most variety [in] design fields, up-to-date trends and hourly-updated feed of design works made by talented people.

Who are some of your favorite designers or artists?Nick Slater is an amazing illustrator and icon designer.

Ariel Verber is a talented designer that makes beautiful user interfaces.

Rogie King is making awesome illustrations.

Alex Bender is designing flawless user interfaces.

Do you have a favorite among all the projects you’ve worked on?One of my latest projects is a menu app interface for mobile and tablet. This project is focused on the user experience of submitting an order in a coffee shop, by using an interactive colorful interface.

Is there a project that stands out to you as having been the biggest challenge of your career so far?One of my biggest projects is a website, Color Hunt. Color Hunt is a collection of beautiful colors, curated by me. I made Color Hunt to share my love for colors. This site inspires, [is] being used, and helps designers and other people to manage the task of choosing the right color palette for their projects.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?I’m not a big planner because I believe life can take you [in] many directions. But I know for sure I will always keep doing what I like, which is design and art. I hope I could keep being engaged in big projects where I can create great products that people love to use. And while doing that, keep learning new stuff, new skills and enrich my experience.

What’s your best advice for designers today?Create. Just create, whatever and whenever you can. The more you get experienced with creating different things, the more you learn. Create 3D , create print, create animation, create branding. Whatever, just keep it wide, as wide as you can. This is the only way you can figure out what your best skills [are], and more important, what you love the most.

Even the smallest buyers have a host of options for producing and selling their own creations, and the creative and financial rewards can be significant. Don’t miss the opportunity to turn your product idea into a reality! See an excerpt from this course.
